DAVID

When I drew this I thought nothing of it. Nothing special. Mike told me it was something he'd never seen me do. I kept staring at it, thinking he was crazy. I spent a week trying to figure out why it was special.

What it did do for me was mark a change in how I thought of my work. Confidence is something I always struggled with. I don't think anyone that assembles ideas is ever 100 percent confident. But there are times when you feel like you can do no wrong. The period might last a day, week, month and out of nowhere disappear.

i love this piece. did mike have this one up on his wall in his home? i thought i remember seeing it when i was there. i know what you mean about the confidence thing. i often find myself resisting to be overly confident, otherwise i'll just become formulaic. not that i am overly confident or full of pride it's just i sometimes get too hot headed in what i'm doing and lose the overall meaning...

hope you're great man. cheers.
